Who is the Aoife Coffee Aarhus store?

Who is Aoife Coffee?

We opened the doors to the coffee shop in April 2019, and have only grown since then.

Today, we carefully select our coffee, import it ourselves, roast it in our micro-roastery and serve it in our coffee shop, which is located in the old fishing port in Ebeltoft.

The name Aoife is an Irish girl’s name, meaning “beautiful” or “radiant.” The story behind the name has a lot of meaning for us, as both Rasmus Jordt and Natacha Abrahamsen, who own Aoife Coffee, have lived in Ireland. It therefore made perfect sense to give our coffee shop an Irish touch, as Ireland is a place that means a lot to them.

When we talk about Ireland, we are very inspired by the Irish countryside and rural lifestyle. This inspiration is reflected in both our everyday life and in the interior design of the coffee shop, where we sell outdoor lifestyle products and dog equipment - all elements that create an authentic and holistic experience for our guests.

With us, there is room for large Land Rovers parked in front of the door, hunting dogs strolling in and out, and of course, big, worn-out farmer boots – all part of the atmosphere we have created here.

Taste, Sustainability and support for local farmers

For us, coffee is not just about serving a good cup – it is a philosophy that encompasses taste, respect for nature and a responsible approach to the people who grow it.

We believe that coffee should taste good, but also be produced with consideration for both the environment and the local communities that live off the coffee.

That's why we are dedicated to supporting small farmers and their communities around the world. Through various projects we are establishing, we want to create long-term partnerships that benefit not only us as coffee lovers, but also the people who work in the fields. We believe in fair and direct trade, and our goal is to ensure that those who grow coffee farmers receive a fair price for their hard work, while promoting sustainable farming methods.

Our coffee selection is built on taste, of course, but also on a deep respect for the process behind each individual bean. We never compromise on quality, while prioritizing sustainable production methods. We are convinced that it is possible to combine a great tasting experience with responsible choices that benefit both people and the planet.

We support the local

In collaboration with local ceramist Ida Marie Peitersen, we have created unique ceramic cups – both for sale on our shelves and to serve our coffee in. Each cup is a work of art in itself and carries its own special design.

We are constantly updating our selection, so you can find new, exciting cups to choose from every time you visit us.
